Sudden vomiting of gastric and bilious duodenal contents may occur. The condition can be quickly eliminated by having the patient assume a knee-elbow position. Diagnosis: X-ray films: Dilated stomach and stretched out C loop of the duodenum due to strangulation of the inferior portion of the duodenum by the root of the mesentery. 9 Vomiting due to Psychogenic Causes Bruns' Syndrome Patients with Bruns' syndrome have periodic headaches, vomiting, vertigo, and imbalance after postural or positional changes.

Transient bone tenderness is noted later, followed by thickening of the bones, especially in the diaphyses and metaphyses of the long bones, of the adjacent areas of the pelvis, and of the shoulder girdle. The underlying pathologic mechanism is a fibrous-cystic transformation of the involved bones. Pigment anomalies and pigmented cutaneous nevi can be seen almost regularly, frequently even at birth. The bone changes become evident by the age of 5 years. Diagnosis: X-ray films. Etiocholanolone Fever (Bondy's Syndrome) Etiocholanolone fever is characterized by recurrent fever of 2 to 3 days' duration, chills, occasionally myalgia, arthralgia, abdominal pain, and vomiting.
