It is unfortunate that this approach has not since been taken during the following years, as the dialogues’ outcomes have not been easily brought into the negotiations. The outcomes of the CSD dialogue sessions have been important in setting up ongoing multi-stakeholder work. They have also helped to build trust between stakeholder groups. In all, there has been an enormous leap in stakeholder group involvement in the UN.
