This review will focus on data collected in four engines. 8 L HENDERSON ET AL. 6 L engines. Each engine/oil combination was evaluated for pressurization time at the Minimum Starting Temperature (MST), 3 degrees below MST and 6 degrees below MST. If an engine/oil combination failed to pressurize in the allotted time at MST then the next test was run 3 degrees above MST. The engines were motored to ensure a consistent operating regime as the pumpability studies were conductedat or below the engine's minimum starting temperature.
